Your Work-life Opportunity

As we expand our influence, we are seeking someone to represent Glovo in the political, social, and institutional ecosystems across Sub-Saharan African (SSA) countries where we operate.
In this pivotal role, you will collaborate closely with our Regional General Manager, Africa, country Leadership teams, and global teams to shape and implement our public affairs and public relations strategy in SSA.
Be a Part Of a Team Where You Will:
- Manage and lead our policy efforts in SSA, reinforcing our market position and non-market strategies.
- Provide support to Comms and Social Impact work within the region.
- Regularly monitor regulations and policies relevant to Glovo and our partners.
- Track public debates and media coverage influencing Glovo and our ecosystem.
- Support various areas of Glovo at local, regional, and HQ levels, including Operations, Legal Marketing, or Communications.
- Design regulatory and legislative proposals aligning with our business strategies.
- Engage directly with policymakers, their staff, and other stakeholders, explaining and defending Glovo’s business model and vision.
- Develop and execute a third-party engagement strategy to cultivate Glovo’s champions in the communities we serve.
- Create and execute PR strategies and media engagement across the region.
- Coordinate Glovo’s regional PR efforts and establish a regular cadence of media coverage in local media.
- Coordinate with the regional PR agency to amplify our message effectively.
- Prepare press releases, articles, Q&As, talk tracks, statements, and media comments on behalf of company spokespeople.
- Manage and coordinate speaking engagements and press events, including research and drafting of briefing materials.
- Provide PR advice to other departments and local General Managers.
- Proactively protect Glovo’s reputation in issues management.
- Maintain and develop relationships with key media.
- Be proactive in newsjacking when the opportunity arises.
- Actively collaborate with colleagues, fostering a supportive environment for mutual growth, development, and impact.
If You Have:
- Experience: A minimum of five years of experience in government affairs or public relations is a must.
- Local Expertise: A strong understanding of the region’s politics and socio-economic developments, especially labor markets, digitalization, and competition, as well as knowledge of local media landscapes.
- Well-rounded Skills: An analytical mind that comprehends the interplay between political, regulatory, social, and economic dynamics. Understanding how journalists and local media work and positioning topics effectively in media is crucial.
- Advocacy for Change: Glovo and on-demand delivery companies are transforming cities and consumption habits. Advocating for positive change and being aligned with this vision is essential.
- Social and Communication Skills: The ability to convey our message persuasively and clearly to a diverse audience.
- Team Player: Success at Glovo hinges on the ability to interact with different teams internally and externally. We are seeking well-organized individuals who enjoy collaborative efforts to achieve shared goals.
